Let’s be clear. It’s not free and it will never be free because we have to pay someone to provide it and we still have to pay for medicines and equipment. But people in the richest country in the world should have a right not to fear bankruptcy from an illness.

Canadians also (less) frequently face bankruptcy from illness. There is the impact of ridiculously high US medical costs & there are the unfortunate effects illness has on a person's ability to produce income & the proper methods of discharging their debts in those situations.
