Yeah, it could be a nudge like “Wow, your post has traveled really far! In order for it to travel farther, we need you to add more evidence and citation! Share some additional sources that show how this is true.” (otherwise the piece of content doesn’t travel farther or something

Then you could survey some statistically significant % of the people who see the content after the change — were these additional citations helpful? I’m spitballing here.

Who says they haven’t effectively done variations of that over the last 10 years? Whenever they wanted to juice certain new products or key content types in news feed, certain producers would get favorable distribution over others.

Maybe no whitelist at first in a test and if it doesn’t perform well, add it later? Also if a source/citation source is suggested in the system as evidence a bunch of times over time, it can be elevated for consideration in a whitelist.
