The SF BOS has put forward a ballot proposition to "upzone RH-1" parcels. I've made a plot of them. No, you don't need your eyes checked - they amount to just 0.46% of the city. That's such a small impact that you can go through and look at every parcel in the city. So I did.pic.twitter.com/VUQQkA5PY0

The Sups proposal didn’t only rezone RH1. It rezoned RH1 PLUS all the parcels that the Mayor’s initiative rezoned. So to the extent people believe we only rezoned RH-1 that’s entirely false.

So the “Affordable Homes for Educators and Families NOW Act” would rezone more than the 216 parcels Christopher's thread focused on and Ian mentioned here?https://twitter.com/IanFregosi/status/1142491704139735040?s=19 …

According to Planning data, there are 216 parcels zoned RH-1 that would be applicable to the Supervisors’ measure (over 10,000 sq ft and no existing housing on them). 10,000 sq ft is considered to be the minimum lot size feasible for a 100% affordable housing project.

(Also is there anywhere the text of the bill is posted publicly? I've been searching for a bit but just coming up with news articles.)

Yes, this is just the RH-1 component, the only purported advantage the BOS version has. Text is here: https://sfgov.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=3992166&GUID=0B9257EF-7852-4BE4-8C4F-53DB0F227842 …

Thank you! For what it's worth, my impression from reading the thread (not knowing the history of Breed's proposal vs this one) was that it ONLY upzoned the infeasible parcels you mention, and that it was a totally worthless ploy I should vote against.

But now it seems the point is that it isn't better than the Mayor's proposal but still it's better than nothing so I should probably vote for it if I am in favor of more of all types of housing?

Ours is better than the Mayor’s proposal. It’s not “watered down” at all. Includes all the parcels that hers does, and more. And has a better definition of educator housing. Allows for amendments to improve on it if passed. Had support of teachers. This will be the one we pass.
