Financing and building an affordable housing project is a totally different (hard) job than the (also hard) job of leading a classroom.

Probably the same reasons that it takes so long to build anything in this city especially when it's for the most in need? I don't know—I'm 20+ years old. The point stands that insulting the teachers union's intelligence isn't the way to get this housing built.

I think Sasha said anything I have left to say. IMO it’s either hubris, elitism or political convenience for ppl involved on the other side of this discussion to make assumptions about UESF that they are, just as they were made w/r/t Mission groups earlier in the thread

Because it faces all the same resource trade-offs we're talking about here (not just monetary) as well as requiring significant cultural and institutional change by everyone involved
