SF supes always want more money for affordable housing but they don’t care whether that money gets put to work efficiently or effectively. A single neighbor can file an appeal for ~$600 that ties up a project for months or years.https://twitter.com/LondonBreed/status/1148301584507346944 …

that's what i was wondering. which is also insane

If you're tied to a grant or tax credit deadline, an extra few months here or there could totally fuck up your fundraising stack. Like Berkeley's teachers want teacher housing to be eligible for the city's bond money this year

Have any 100% affordable projects been subject to DR since SB35 streamlined affordable housing? I can’t find any examples
-
SB 35 only works if you're 100% compliant with the local zoning. Almost all affordable projects need some kind of variance which means they don't qualify. It may be easier to get SB35 compliant projects on the Eastside, but not on the West.

This is underreported. Even sitting supes are like, "We shouldn't etch this in stone via the charter" ... but we're not, we're undoing a stone etching that— well, the metaphor breaks down but you know what I mean.

I still don't, but I'm sure someone can explainhttps://twitter.com/gibsopi/status/1148463411476365312?s=20 …
