It seems we're all pretty comfortable talking about what other people should do in their communities and neighborhoods. .

I’m from there. My parents live there. I could not afford to raise a family exactly in that neighborhood today so my family commutes between 2-3 hours a day each. So it is very much my community. You left it for another continent.

We still own our house in Oakland and would love to see more housing get built. But Google's plan is classic tech classic hubris. Did they even talk to Mountain View fist to see how it fits w local planning? It seems they have decided local govt is unnecessary...
