1,100 homes. 550 of them will be permanently affordable. A childcare facility for 100 families. A 4-acre park. I hope the irrationality of the current situation pushes people to remove the third party veto over other people's property usage.

It is public property they are selling to a private developer. Their argument is to keep it in public hands and build 100% affordable housing.

It’s like $300K per unit in local taxpayer dollars to create one affordable unit (on top of another 4-500K per unit in federal and state tax credits) so if they want 100% affordable, is the neighborhood going to generate $300M to pay for it?

Or do they want to pay nothing and have the other parts of the project cross subsidize it?

Kim, you should talk to
@Goldiein604 about how it turns out when a property developer is sold public land w/ a promise to deliver affordable social housing on it. Don’t think private enterprises are always going to do a better job than your govt#vanre https://twitter.com/goldiein604/status/842421487868899328?s=21 …Justin added,

You’re not from SF. You don’t know our situation. This isn’t a market rate developer promising a sliver of BMR housing. These are decades-old non profit developers that are well known in the region for executing projects.
