It is public property they are selling to a private developer. Their argument is to keep it in public hands and build 100% affordable housing.

It’s like $300K per unit in local taxpayer dollars to create one affordable unit (on top of another 4-500K per unit in federal and state tax credits) so if they want 100% affordable, is the neighborhood going to generate $300M to pay for it?

These people in the surrounding neighborhood say they want to have more affordable housing so if they want to do that, do they have a plan to finance it or not? The city spend years/decades finding something that would support 550 units....
