I hope the irrationality of the current situation pushes people to remove the third party veto over other people's property usage.

It is public property they are selling to a private developer. Their argument is to keep it in public hands and build 100% affordable housing.

Ask them how much extra they’re going to pay in taxes to make it 100% affordable.

this is a quote about roads, but it applies to housing to. we know how to make things more affordable, why are we listening to people who stand to gain from less affordability??https://twitter.com/BrooklynSpoke/status/1125070207104499712 …

They don't actually gain from zoning artificially suppressing land values, and it's still about the roads. The only thing people are getting from opposing density is free parking and expensive housing.

This shows how broken the process is.
@NeverSassyLaura and I helped organize for a CAC meeting at City Hall a while back and it was 60 people with 90% supporting. Frankly we are doing a lot and didn’t organize for that info hearing, so it becomes a headline

When the community engagement process is literally YEARS long, pro-housing people cannot possibly mobilize for every informational hearing. It's an absurd ask. At the very least we need to streamline Affordable projects:https://actionnetwork.org/letters/amend-the-charter-to-streamline-affordable-teacher-housing …
