We already have climate refugees now. Last year’s fires burned the equivalent of something like 80% of the last 10 years of housing production in the five or six most affected counties. Many Camp fire victims are only getting their FEMA trailers *right now*

I'd really strongly advise against this line of thought, that anyone place will be 'better'. Climate change is going to challenge society everywhere. The challenges might be different in type and seasonality but there will be challenges none the less.
