Sure, we have lots of examples globally of cities building a lot of social housing very quickly. I can't really think of any cities outside of an American perspective that do density without socialist schemes like public housing.

I guess the best examples of cities with good market-rate density are in the global South and involve slums but those appear to be the least climate resilient modes of densifying
