Regulating entire labor markets - or reducing the incentives for the creation of doctors generally - is uh. Not good. Or at least doesn’t sound good to me

These complaints are uncompelling. A significant portion of revenue goes to dealing with the administrative complexity of working with different insurers/plans. And hard to buy claim they need higher prices to support investment because they haven't proven to be good stewards.

I suspect hospital leadership pay packages are tied to revenue which is why the framing was in revenues not profits in the piece but you can imagine achieving profitability on lower revenues by removing the complexity of multiple insurers/plans/rates etc
