Maybe. But I it might be more popular even among the jurisdictions impacted. I recall Indian Wells fought lawsuits for years to stop affordable housing (I forget what the ultimate outcome was, I think they lost) and they kept saying they wanted to pay for it outside of their city

I'd like to have the places that wish to be Millionaire Acres & Billionaire Acres responsibly zone. If they're going to add jobs but no new housing & no new affordable housing, they're creating externality that the rest of us pay for. But rather than fight it out, I'd hope to

Have them just throw money at the problem and be done with it. We save on litigation costs and the affordable housing gets built by wiser jurisdictions.
