I see what you’re saying and acknowledge there were reasons for the opposition that were understandable and not about being an evil sellout or whatnot! I also agree it was bad politics. But I think on net, it was bad policy, too, in this case.

Yes, this. More so than these politicians’ careers we should be considered that 62% and 66% will mean hundreds of people unnecessarily die on our streets while Prop C is held up in court.

Taxes are required to go to ballot. So taxes are rarely collaborative all departments holistic big picture weigh in—generally either a few supervisors or residents/orgs put taxes on to get funding for specific purpose. Also PropC didn’t take money from any dept, it grew the pot
