Laws like this might prevent SF or even CA agencies from using it, but do you ever envision the federal government really giving that up?

What does the bill say about private cameras and facial recognition? Would police be able to tap into those private networks deploying it?

Facial recognition is a technology that must be put back in the box. A surveillance apparatus that assigns identity based on immutable characteristics must not be allowed to propagate. Time’s running out, but this is at least a precedent that future legislation can be built upon.
