did people polled know what a split roll property tax even was? also, for small biz owners vs large corporations, increased rent costs on their biz location might have a neg effect on them. how about asking about a wealth tax instead???

Ca prop is so expensive that re-assessment even few years could bring in massive prop re-evaluation costs. for mega corps like apple google amazon, they can handle increased taxation. small biz owners—not so much. it’s a bit like sales tax, it hits smaller folks worst.

Great news, if this is a first step towards repealing Prop 13. What if it never moves beyond that though? Cities already have a lot of incentives to favor commercial developments, this halfway repeal will make them resist housing even more.
