Not really. There were lots of smaller-ish cos for about 20 years or so.
But now there’s Apple, Google, Facebook, and a few more very large companies. I foresee the rate of startups declining especially because these companies will be controlling the market. Also, there’s only so much ‘disruption’ that can take place.
Plus there’s only so many ways to redo what already exists. A lot of what these startups are doing is applying today’s tech to yesterday’s. Like the first wave of change to online shopping/consumerism, this wave will normalize.
