Honestly, with the scale and speed of modern wildfire, it may not really matter whether you go wood shingle or stucco. The state is ecologically built to burn, as it has done so over hundreds of years and will continue to do so at a more aggressive pace.

There are large parts of Berkeley that are designated "wildland urban interface" areas. We're not just talking Central Valley exurbs here. I think we can agree that Berkeley needs to build more, not less. I think this is the right decision. The positioning is silly.
