Insulin in Canada costs less, from what I've read it's actually *illegal* for US citizens to order it from Canada (not illegal for people in Canada to sell it though).

My understanding is that insulin inself is generic, but the modern processes to create it efficiently are relatively new and still under patent.

And firms can't invest in less-modern production facilities, because they know the monopolists with modern IP could undercut them at will if necessary?
