If the navigation centers were marketed at serving long term San Francisco families (which are 90% of the homeless population according to surveys) I wonder if people would be more likely to embrace them?

We have permanent supportive housing, which is long-term. Nav centers/SAFE centers are basically a higher quality form of shelter with more wraparound services, support.

I get this a lot, sometimes in the form of “A TENT IS NOT A SUITABLE HOME”. I agree. they follow with “YOU ARE /ENABLING THEM/ BY DEFENDING TENTS”. to which I reply: I am enabling them to LIVE until something better is available. We’re working on that. You’re in the way.
