I don’t know why Amazon is in the headline because this is all cashless stores.

tbh this is an improvement over bitching about our cafeterias. did Peskin weigh in on this yet?

As someone who mostly works with small startups, I don’t really care about cafeterias and see the need to integrate w/ the local retail and business community.

The food-service workers who have (very) steady employment thanks to the cafeterias probably care about them tho.

As someone who works at startups and has kids, it's ridiculous for a politician to try to mandate where i eat lunch because the restaurant lobby is sad they're not competitive.

Posit: Anti-competitive housing markets drive up rents. Consequence: Rent impacts cost of labor. Result: Food businesses raise prices to cover labor costs. Conclusion: Food businesses fail because no one understands why their croissant costs $14.

Issue with these being worse jobs aside, Bring forced to venture out to order food doesn’t seem like it gets anywhere near solving any real issue with building a cohesive & integrated community. Mandatory civics classes in cafeterias is a terrible but better idea.
