Not sure the economics make sense for a startup, need a lot of investment up front and there are a lot of different areas that need innovation. Maybe a grant / subsidy approach would be a great way to encourage new solutions, X prize style?

Ya, hard to separate process from business building and new solutions. It's a marketplace problem that needs hard science on top of tech execution. Not everyone's cup of tea to take all of it on
