Unpopular opinion: remote work is mostly bullshit. Way more gets done when you’re all in the same office.

I like doing both. If I WFH, I can just process hundreds and hundreds of emails in a backlog uninterrupted. And then in office, it’s coordination/communication.

If your office had fewer distractions or a place to process those emails would you do it there? Or something else that makes you prefer home? We built our business in 1 spot and didn’t love the WFH concept

We have an open office. There’s also just the Bay Area and its mega-commutes. I don’t technically have a mega-commute (>90 minutes each way) but I do lose >2 hrs a day commuting.

A one hour (each way) commute has been pretty normal historically for anyone commuting into a city of any size from the suburbs. I live (in an admittedly fairly far out) suburb of Boston. I'm a good 90 minutes into city at rush hour.

I am an absolute machine when I WFH. MUCH more productive and focused. AND I save 3-4 hours a day not fighting the SJ to SF traffic. I think it depends on the kind of work you do, and the tools you have available to connect with the right people, where and when you need to.
