IDK, this works for arguments about what elected officials should do via governments but does not work for things like: should we be organizing to increase class consciousness, how should firm management be organized, etc. which requires a discussion of ideological priors

The reason the terms are hard to use productively is that they're emotionally loaded. Always easier to argue numbers, facts. You can actually convince someone that way. Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt mastered this :)

We should discuss capitalism v socialism. The significant difference is socialism is based on force. It uses government guns and prisons to take people's production and redistribute it. Capitalism relies on voluntary actions - no force. That's the crucial diff worth discussing.
