One more Amazon question: Do you think the elected officials from Long Island who are reportedly upset about Amazon's pulling out were going to support significant upzonings & inclusionary multifamily housing in their suburban districts needed to address the housing demand?

That's patently false. SF actually builds significantly more housing units per capita than nyc. NYC builds very little!

San Francisco has been permitting more than NYC per capita these past few years, and they added more units per capita from 2000 to 2010, per the decennial Census housing stock counts. NYC as a city that builds is rooted in the visuals of skyscrapers under construction, not fact

NYC has 10x the population of SF. I get your point but “per-capita” permitting isn’t a great measure IMO.
