Very curious to hear what you think are better transit / housing uses for that money. As jobs become more clustered in urban centers, and urban housing prices go up, high speed will help connect people loving further out to high-paying jobs.

There is a real sunk cost though: the infrastructure construction emissions budget (CO2 from concrete etc.) we have left to complete sustainable infrastructure, along with the emissions that are happening while it isn’t done

and the bus station doesn't even do that many trips!! AC Transit only does like 15,000 riders per day
