Lenny is an exceptional leader and he's the reason I got involved in housing advocacy. I went door-to-door for him. Lenny lost re-election resoundingly in 2018. If effective housing leaders like Lenny can't even hold onto their seat, what hope does local control offer?

Yes, big loss with Lenny not getting reelected. He certainly was and still is a model for leadership, demonstrating how innovative housing policy (including the first-ever tech tax and a 20% inclusionary) can be done through local community and political organizing.
