Good morning, Northern California — PG&E, the state's largest utility that serves 16 million of us, has officially filed for bankruptcy. But it's not going out of business and the lights are staying on. Do PG&E’s incentives to keep its infrastructure safe this and next fire season weaken because its in bankruptcy proceedings? Will its workers care if they know that PG&E can negotiate down their wages and benefits in bankruptcy proceedings?

Future wildfire victims are administrative claimants who have priority under bankruptcy law and must he paid in full for PG&E to leave bankruptcy. It's past wildfire victims who are in trouble.
