It's unclear to me if you're advocating more single-family homes or if you're saying that there should be family living options within taller \ higher density buildings

The latter.

And of course, we need to allocate better the current family-sized units we have:https://sf.curbed.com/2017/1/19/14327998/san-francisco-families-children-housing-report …

Yep. There are plenty of "family sized" houses, they just don't house families. Building new small apts for singles/couples (even luxury hirises!) means fewer of us buying up those houses.https://ggwash.org/view/67102/hey-dc-yimbys-missing-data-for-your-arguments-here-it-is …

@mnolangray@lymanstoneky the primary source of family-sized net new housing being built in Seattle proper is town houses. Best thing for families would be to allow those everywhere, plus DADUs and split lots, in addition to permitting more mid rise and towers.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. Individuals should get the clearest (unmuddled by outside forces) market incentives for what to do next.

It's probably most obvious in infill development, but lots of high-density development misses green spaces, playgrounds, gardens, traffic-free biking lanes, utility/hobby spaces, etc. All the housing units seem to be aimed at childless couples.
