Core challenge is 25%+ of the electorate are putting social fights — “god, guns, gays” over kitchen table economics. Another 10% are just too stupid to vote period, and of course there’s the millions who do not bother to vote at all.

Which has resulted in massive job growth in manufacturing, thus providing jobs in those areas that were becoming destitute due to the offshoring of jobs. The issue is never as cut and dried as it first appears.
