A commercial fisherman explained this to me a few mos ago. The melting ice would push fish flows South, possibly into water that is then too hot for them to survive. So they'd either be in too hot, or too cold water, and that could reduce yields dramatically.

Except that for the last two years it has been gaining ice mass.

I'd actually like to see that data if it's from a credible source. Also, important to note that two years is a small time frame and an overall increase in temperatures by a couple degrees is projected to melt the entire ice sheet.
