(This is exactly what the Sierra Club warned about when they came out against SB-827)
I think you can legislate around this risk. Alternative is what? No transit oriented development? More pressures in housing market relative to a world where SB50 passes?

Better than giving them more frequent service for nothing, though, which is what we were planning to do...
Why on earth would we ever spend scarce transit resources on service to a community that wants no housing? Livermore didn’t want to add much housing so they didn’t get BART. We can use that transit $ to expand in places that allow density. We have plenty of other transit needs.
That and killing their station would be, as one of the CAHSR blogs put it, a gesture commensurate with their support of the electrification project
