I would rather have a big quake happen in January than September. September would be teeeeerrible. Water would be cut off for months and the city would burn down.

I was just thinking that this morning! A big Hayward fault rupture would burst natural gas lines and create the worst urban wilderness interface fire... ever probably. Certainly worse than Rockridge fire.
