The bizarre thing is that the two leading authors work for WRI, which does a lot of good urban research work. I saw two of their people present at the NYC Transportation Camp in October '18 (on electric buses).

It would be interesting if there was a way to “gradient” the amount of land increment land owners are able to capture based on nearby density/agglomeration effects.

Like I think one of the issues w Long Island/Amazon or other tech hubs is that land owners disproportionately capture the rise in land value from economic/creative productivity without contributing real value or innovation.

OTOH there’s a large question of where we want to incentivize people & cities to be/grow given sea level rise and other climate change issues affecting the long-term viability of the land.
