This is a training issue. People of my generation thought that using MS Office and Project was job security. If you’re over 45 you’re kind of screwed in the next 10 years.

Could be “economic anxiety”. But I feel like there’s just as many, if not more who are neighborhood character fundamentalists. The impression i get is that they’re preserving the old white flight mindset. (Public transit, apartments = criminals/the poors/drugs/blacks/etc) /1

Age discrimination is one form of discrimination that is not only widely practiced, but openly acknowledged. With only minor prompting, people who are doing it will readily talk about why they they think it’s ok. Of course, most workers don’t think it will ever happen to them.
