$100k plus per door in “impact fees” means we see housing as a negative Thant needs to be mitigated. Until that mindset changes we can’t solve this problem. Home construction can’t be the ATM that pays for parks, schools, transit, police etc.
You mean when building homes gets so expensive that the workers employed to build them can't afford to live there, new building screeches to a halt? Well, not if you can sell the new stuff in China, where people continue to buy despite a 22% vacancy rate in sold new homes!
The workers who build need to get paid enough to buy too.
