I know what you meant. I’m just pointing out how it’s strange that we expect shared fixed line to be fare recovery neutral or positive when we don’t ask roads to do the same.

Some (very few) cities have fare-free public transit, and some roads have tolls. But we do expect whatever rules are set up for transport funding by its users to be followed. Advocating for transit passes for low income/unemployed seems wiser than encouraging turnstile jumping
