I did this in the early days + also judged my sits as good and bad, which is just craving vs. aversion. Sharing about retreat is when ego mixes with the desire to introduce a tool to end suffering to others. Vipassana's true benefits come when we stop using intoxicants + just sit

The broadcasting is definitely strange but good to know you’re a practitioner. You’re also supposed to not talk about it to allow people to have a blank slate experience so this is strange. “I meditated in caves” is particularly bad.

I was thinking the same! I agree there is a huge delta here between product and leader, and a lot of possible ways to improve, but his sharing his experience is a good step.

It’s a good practice to explore things that are seemingly opposite. New possibilities for creativity, insight, and empathy are at these juxtapositions. Glad he’s doing it and something I’d like to try one day.
