Is George Orwell’s definition the same as what is being espoused today? To use today’s lens on language used in the past is pure folly. The definition of liberal has changed over the last 100 years. And Orwell’s quote ends with “as I understand it.” What’s his understanding?

Orwell wrote a whole essay and platform about what a democratic Socialist revolution would look like In the UK in 1941.
