Sounds about right! Though SF has inherited a much higher level of existing density. And a lot of Seattle's relative housing abundance is thanks to our exurbs permitting more sprawl.

Last I checked, apartments were illegal in 80% of Seattle. It's not surprising that all the growth is happening in the remaining 20%

It's just superficial San Francisco tribalism and adhering to the age old SF idea that density is bad, even East Bay isn't that bad compared to the bizarre world that is housing politics in the city.

Pleased don't spread the falsehood that densification of cities combats climate change. The evidence is strongly against that. Also, afaict, density in developed countries is statically associated with worse affordability, poorer housing, and worse health for LI households.
