yeah I support upzoning rich neighborhoods but this is exactly right. turning less “desirable” areas into desirable ones and profiting off the land value is the basic motor of real estate development. you can alleviate that but it’s not gonna go away

I think his compassion for RV dwellers, his strong position on protecting our rent control and his leadership on north bayshore left him with few allies. Tech and NIMBYs weren’t very happy with him. Also he took forever to finally campaign

@mporat this is what happens to publicly elected officials who side with the homeless over companies and homeowners. If you want things to be different, then support candidates in your community with your votes, time, social capital and/or money. - 2 more replies
