Those who badly want NorCal to remain a bedroom community when it should be a metropolis should be banned from city planning decision making. That, or companies should vote with their head count and expand elsewhere. Break the cycle or US will 100% lose global tech dominance.

To approve office space, since office space attracts business tax revenue and doesn’t cost the city as much in services like police, schools since the workers in those office spaces will presumably live elsewhere (or de facto displace the tenant base that is currently there).
