It'd be a deep cut, but I'd love an explainer on how indemnification and cost-overrun clauses work in these sorts of public megaproject contracts. One would expect that the builders should be eating the cost of defective work.

This kind of deep dive would be a HUGE public service, no matter how boring to the layperson. Indemnification clauses, etc play such a huge role in today’s public works projects re: cost especially and it’s not even close to widely understood
