Also the house I grew up in was built the year Steve Jobs graduated high school and it’s crazy that the suburb looks the same as it did decades ago even though Apple is a $1T company. Homeowners just appropriated value in property appreciation w/out investing in infrastructure.

This project will be the next downtown SunnyVale. It won’t get done until the next business cycle. A whole generation of Cupertino youth will have moved to Portland, Las Vegas, or Texas.

It's much to late for being sad. It's time to cut the NIMBYs and their proponents completely out of the process & give free reigns to the developers to build. We'll see what our dear leader

i grew up here too—lots of good vallco loitering memories it’s an awkward stage where density is up enough that traffic is awful, still too low for public transit to appeal, but vallco (by 280, walking dist to apple/new main st) is a best-case dream for least traffic impact
