Ah, I see your point better now. It's right, but missing the motivation for these policies can have a normative goal of eliminating the rich (as rich people, at least.)

the reason I became more interested in antitrust is because I came to see that progressive taxation alone wouldn't address this issue. You have to address the concentration of power, wealth issue well before the point of taxation.
