I’ve started riding the T Third again only because the service is pretty great now that it is properly staffed (due to the Twin Peaks shutdown).

The only thing I hate more than biking in SF, is the N-line from the sunset. At least its awfulness keeps me healthy!

I don’t ride Muni much anymore. My neighborhoods have always had poor/infrequent service and it’s often slower than just walking (my commutes are ~1-1.5 miles). Biking takes 8 minutes for me... walking 25... bus 30-35.

I was biking almost exclusively until one Sunday night I decided to take the N to a movie. Tried to swipe my clipper card but the scanner was busted. "Whatever," I said. "It's Sunday night." Ran into fare inspectors -- at 9 pm, on a Sunday. $150 Muni ride.

I spent the whole summer riding Muni, and am writing about it. https://sf.curbed.com/summer-of-muni

I use Muni vs bike for big hills, sometimes weather, occasionally to stay out of peak traffic with red lanes
-
Muni metro is pretty good to zip up and down market st. Routes like the 14r with red lanes are pretty boss. And the bus is great when moving around with kids. But wait times are the variable that hurts. For fast, efficient, cheap, solo trips in the flats of SF, the bicycle wins

I'm the opposite - I've almost stopped cycling in SF entirely, after twice being hit by inattentive drivers, and with bike theft and distracted driving skyrocketing, I'd say I use Muni and BART for transportation 75% of the time I'm in SF.

Huh. I've ridden Muni nearly every day of my life since I could walk, sans vacations. Then again, I also dont bike. I take BART occasionally but prefer
@rideact for transbay riding because I enjoy looking out windows and feel a bit claustrophobic in the transbay tube. -
I detest getting around the East Bay because the most efficient way for me is driving. I really dislike being cooped up in a car. AC Transit is decent in the East Bay but it grinds to a halt at night, leaving me effectively stranded. That is why I tend to stick to SF.
