For sure. I have near-weekly stays in New York over the weekends, but even though I'm in London once a year for a couple weeks, I see more variety there.

And frankly, the characterization of the "old" London restaurant scene is probably over 20 years old. Ridiculous.

More like 30 years. I lived in London in ‘98 and the food (quality + choice) was already excellent.

The NYT is terribly provincial. Good food has been in London for a long time. Indian curries, French cuisine, American steaks. Leave it to the NYT to be condescending as well as out of touch.
