Am I the only one not really blinking at this figure? I'm not saying it *should* cost that much, but a multi-story, 6-acre multi-use structure in the heart of the most construction-expensive city in the world? Even without the train connection, $2.2B seems about right. #insane

A $2.2 billion bus station with Salesforce branding, no less. The old “TransBay Terminal” it replaced conveyed a clear civic purpose. This just looks like the station stop for Salesforce HQ.pic.twitter.com/ApG1NPFjn7

Of course, as a colleague pointed out, this could be a precursor to renaming San Francisco “Salesforce, California,” in which case it all makes perfect sense.

"The money will follow, Zabaneh said, and if everything goes smoothly, the rail extension will be complete by 2029." I am excited for the grand opening of the extension around 2045.. My grandkids will enjoy it.

Yeah but we like buses. Of course $2.2 Billion would have supplied some real public transit, but I guess we like monuments better.
