Question: There's been a lot written in the popular media about George and the Land Value Tax. But has anyone written about his general economic theory about as you say most of productivity & profit & labor surplus being eaten up land.

Best economic class I ever took (and I have an Econ degree!) was a weekly reading of Progress and Poverty led by Henry George School of SF. Local Yimbys could contact them and see if they'll lead a class for the group. It's hard to see the world the same way after reading George.

Why don't the YIMBYs even discuss Prop 13?

Yup! And Henry George's ideas influenced us greatly here in Oz during the Progressive Era (1890-1920), including Canberra being founded on a leasehold system of land tenure, and a federal land tax introduced 1910. Best standard of living in the world at the time.

Another book should be written about a group of insane people piling on top of each other in a minuscule speck of the world, bellowing their rage, and demanding taxes from bewildered onlookers to fund their chosen lifestyle.

You're very confused about the direction of actual tax and spending flows

land rent is a really interesting subject, as is land value. (especially when TRPA counsel admitted to me that you have no right to use vacant land)
