Would love to see a graph of wildfires charted over time. Seems like it would be a hard to deny indicator of global warming. It’s awful and the fires are impossible to contain. This video was from a flight a few weeks back. They turned around the

Not to be cynical, but a good number of Californians would prefer to see people who choose to live on the wildland-urban interface to migrate to another state, not to Berkeley.

Californians don't need to build walls because they have giant invisible ones enforced by zoning.

950 Market Street, San Francisco, is one block from TWO major, public transit stations. I’m aware of the issue with him opposing more homeless services in the Tenderloin but I was not aware of this one. Happy to understand how this squares

we need state mandated dense zoning in urban areas now!

I'll second that motion - but for dense social housing subsidized by the state. They could tie it to how many renters are paying over 30% of their income to rent + utilities. We can pay for it by making fossil fuel companies pay a use fee and not giving them ginormous subsidies.

We need a state constitutional amendment to severely limit the power of local zoning / planning / community boards. To be blunt, these people will all be dead when the chickens they are raising come to roost, and the rest of us can't afford their obstructionism.
-
The state can just pass a law, no amendment needed. Charter cities have some constitutional protections but not much.
